The Royal Wedding

Today was a good day, with good weather and good food ;) And it's the day when Prince William and Kate Middleton have married at the Westminster Abbey. The ceremony was beautiful and they looked lovely together.

As for me, it was an ordinary day when I spent my time playing and entertaining my precious little gem Zara (she turns 13months today!). She is really cheeky now, always want to play! She is just the cutest baby in my eyes (of course other mothers would say the same about their babies) This evening, I'd planned to go out for brisk walk (would be the first time since..err..since forever ;p) but the plan has changed. I was in my sport attire when my neighbour (Mrs J) called me and told me she wanted to come over to watch the Royal Wedding. While waiting for her to come over, I took Zara out for a little walkie..Zara is just too fast! She just started walking about 3weeks ago and now she's flying! She had a few slipped but she got up quickly on her own and she won't let me hold her hands. Such an independent little gem she is! Mummy is so proud of you!!

And what did I cook today? Since Mr Hubby is down with flu, I've decided its better for him to have somekind of soup, so I've made chicken soup with rice. It will be ready for him when he's back from oncall. It's 9.26pm and he's not home yet..and since he bought me the BreadMaker(BM) that I had longed for sometimes, I've made him some sausage rolls as well. The recipe i've got from tiffinbiru.blogspot.com but i've changed some of the recipe. Dont know where to find bread softener/bread improver here in Ireland, I ended up substitute those with baking powder and baking soda. I also added up a tablespoon of lecithin (as I read somewhere that lecithin could also act as bread softener). And the result, not so fluffy bread..boleh la buat hilang craving roti sosej Malaysia. Here goes the recipe..

Source: www.tiffinbiru.blogspot.com
BAHAN-BAHANNYA :-)
250 gram tepung roti (high protein flour)
50 gram gula halus @ gula kastor
1/2 camca teh garam halus
10 g susu tepung
1/4 camca teh bread improver ---> changed to soda bicarbonate
1/4 camca teh bread softerner ---> changed to baking powder
*add 1 sudu besar lecithin powder
30 g telur (pecahkan 1 biji, kacau sedikit dan timbang)
6 gram instant yeast
20 g mentega
125 ml air suam (kalau guna Breadmaker guna air biasa)
14 batang sosej "Ayamas"
Bijan untuk hiasan

CARA MEMBUATNYA :-)
Sejukkan atas jaringan sebelum dihidangkan.

Note to self: Next time, balut roti tebal2 sket..tadi roti nipis jadi slightly crunchy. Tp tetap sedap..hehe.. (mode perasan)

Its the first!!

Hmm..let me see, the first post of this blog would be about the weather today in Galway. As I'm typing this post, the sun is shining brilliantly outside and it does feel good with this kind of weather. It is so warm with temp reaching 25'C and it hasn't been summer yet! Our tiny bedroom has been converted into a sauna..hahaha. Mind the rest of the seasons in Ireland where u could get snow, shower, gales, hailstones all at the same day!

Oh,by the way, this blog is dedicated to my beloved daughter, Zara Yasmeen binti Ahmad Nazaruddin. She'll be turning 13months tomorrow. How time flies, feel like just yesterday she was born and i held her into my arms. I shall write all about Zara in this blog so that one day when she is all grown up, she could read what Mummy has writen up about her. So just to let you know Zara, Mummy and Abah loves you so much and you're the best gift in our lives. Alhamdulillah..for all the blessings.

And this blog would also be my future reference for any recipes that i've tried and tested. I'm not a good cook but i'll try my best to provide my family with home-cooked food. Before this, i've been following a few cooking blogs and had been trying their recipes but i've never compelled to create a blog of my own. Until recently, a friend suggested to me that i should be a blogger and share my passion of home cooking made me start thinking..a blog would be nice to have so i can keep all the recipes i've tried and tested for the future reference.

So, here i am writing my first entry.  Let me introduce to my small team members : There's me, the writer, MrHubby who is currently the sole provider of this household and our little gem babyZara/Zara. And we are an ordinary family living our lives as the best as they could be. Alhamdulillah..
